This article applies to the safe operating and handling of Allen & Heath products during the Coronavirus outbreak period. The advice given is to the best of our knowledge and based on UK government guidelines at the time of writing. You may have further advice from your own government or local agencies.
General advice
- First and foremost, remember social distancing and hygiene are key to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus. This is no different when dealing with Allen & Heath products. Prior to and after handling any equipment wash your hands thoroughly with soap or use hand sanitiser, together with any other locally prescribed measures.
- Minimise the number of users sharing a product. A recommendation would be for only one engineer to use a particular product and therefore reduce any risk of transmission of the virus.
- Based on current scientific data, we understand the virus will remain present on hard surfaces for up to 72 hours and the chance of transmission reduces over this period. If the mixer has been in storage or untouched for more than 3 days, then there is no requirement to clean it. Use a dust cover to protect the product between uses.
Cleaning your Allen & Heath product
- Following the setup, handling or use of the product:
- Wipe using a soft, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth moistened with a solution of water and neutral detergent with surfactant.
- Leave for 5 minutes, then wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water.
- Wipe off any moisture with a dry cloth.
- Only use Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA) on hard, non-porous surfaces. Do not use IPA on capacitive touchscreens, soft touch and TPE materials. IPA should be applied with a soft, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth moistened with liquid IPA 99% or higher.
- Do not spray any liquid directly onto the product, and avoid getting moisture in any opening, as this can damage certain components and remove the lubricant from faders.
- Avoid other agents as they may contain inappropriate chemicals. These include gel or liquid hand sanitisers, bleach and similar oxidising cleansing agents which may damage the surfaces, touchscreen and paint of the product.

- Long term use of IPA has not been tested on all materials. Prolonged or excessive use may cause cosmetic damage.
- We cannot guarantee the actual efficacy or safety of these recommendations with respect to elimination of the Coronavirus from the surfaces of our equipment.
