To enable connectivity, you must connect from the USB B port of the CQ unit, to the USB port of your computer using a USB cable.
- CQ mixers are Core Audio compliant on MacOS so no driver is required
- For Windows PC’s, please download the ASIO Driver from the ‘CQ USB Audio Driver’ section, located at the bottom of each unit’s profile: CQ | Allen & Heath (allen-heath.com)
Note: For a visual reference, Logic Pro DAW is being used in this example; The above is equally effective on any other DAW.
Sending audio from your CQ to a DAW
1.- On your CQ, go to CONFIG / DIGITAL AUDIO / USB/SD

- Select the Source Point from which the signal will be sent to the USB Interface.
- Select the Sample Rate at which your DAW session is being configured.
- Select Multitrack.
2.- Go to your DAW and open the Audio Preferences

- Locate the INPUT Source selection and select your Allen and Heath CQ
3.- Create the number of Tracks required on your DAW.
4.- Select each track and locate its Input Source selection, then assign the corresponding channel from your CQ channels.
5.- Done! Signal will now be available for recording and processing on each of the DAW tracks.
Sending audio from your DAW into the CQ
1.- On your CQ, go to CONFIG / DIGITAL AUDIO / USB/SD

- Select the Sample Rate at which your DAW session is being configured.
- Select Multitrack.
2.- Go to your DAW and open the Audio Preferences

- Locate the OUTPUT Source selection and select your Allen and Heath CQ
3.- Select each track and locate its Output Source selection, then assign an Output channel for each track in the order that you wish to receive them on your CQ console layout.
4.- On the CQ, go to CONFIG / INPUTS and select the required channels according to your DAW output assignments; Use Multi Select to select multiple inputs at the same time.
5.- Switch Input Source to USB/SD
6.- Done! Signal will now be sent to the CQ from the DAW and can be routed and processed as required.
