We have been made aware of a potential situation whereby digital noise may occur when using the M-Waves card with an iLive system.
This issue has been resolved in Waves V9 and M-Waves firmware version 1.10.8.
If any of the following conditions are met when MultiRack SoundGrid is launched on a computer connected to the M-Waves card, a burst of “full scale noise” will be sent to iLive audio channels that are assigned to SoundGrid connections:
a) there is no SoundGrid server connected to the M-Waves card
b) the SoundGrid server is connected to the M-Waves card but not powered
c) a powered SoundGrid server is connected to the M-Waves card but there is no active network link (faulty cable)
A burst of noise will also be sent when making any changes in MultiRack SoundGrid, e.g. turning MultiRack SoundGrid on/off, changing a SoundGrid connection or closing MultiRack SoundGrid.
When in this state the SoundGrid connections window will display a flashing red status indicator next to the ‘MultiRack-1’ to ‘Allen&Heat-1’ connection.
This issue affects the following system:
- MultiRack SoundGrid version 2.5.1.2 build 10413
- SoundGrid Server firmware version 2.5.0.4 (1.1)
- M-Waves firmware version 1.9.13
- Waves V8
To avoid this issue the SoundGrid network must be set up correctly - ensuring that the cabling from the SoundGrid server to the M-Waves card is operational - and the SoundGrid server must be powered on before MultiRack SoundGrid is launched.
We also recommend that users ensure that all iLive outputs are muted during system set up.
