The iLive MixPad application runs on the Apple iPad and connects to the iLive over a wireless network.
iLive MixPad is a professional mixing tool that handles a very large amount of control and metering data.
For best performance avoid multitasking.
Other applications running on the iPad should be closed before starting MixPad.
If you have a problem with iLive MixPad please check the FAQ below:
Q: iLive MixPad fails to see and connect to the iLive?
A: Go to the Settings screen and check that Wi-Fi is turned On and the iPad is connected to the correct wireless network.
Check the iPad signal icon for good signal strength.
Q: There is good signal strength indicated but iLive MixPad fails to connect?
A: There may be interference affecting that wireless channel, for example, other WiFi networks, cordless telephones, or other digital equipment.
Remove the interference or try changing the wireless channel.
This is done using the wireless router setup facility.
Q: iLive MixPad fails to connect or runs very slowly?
A: To ensure the best performance and prevent iLive MixPad from slowing down the rest of the iLive system, a wireless router with good specification and Multicast capability is recommended.
Low cost or older routers may not have the processing power to handle the data.
Q: Must I use the iLive MixPad app Multicast option?
A: Yes. Default is Multicast turned On.
This is set in the iPad Settings menu under the iLive MixPad App.
We highly recommend that you keep it turned on and use a Multicast capable wireless router.
If you are working with a non-Multicast capable router you may find it runs faster with Multicast turned Off, but this will risk slowing down the Surface and other iLive devices if the iPad goes out of range or suffers interference.
Q: Do I also need to turn on the iLive Multicast setting?
A: No, the Multicast option accessed from the iLive Surface or iLive Editor does not affect the iLive MixPad.
It affects the operation of the Editor and is only needed if you experience wireless reception problems using iLive Editor on your laptop.
Q: iLive MixPad shuts down or an 'Out of memory' warning appears?
A: iLive MixPad uses a lot of memory to work with the huge amount of control and metering data within iLive.
There is plenty of memory available within the iPad, but much of it may already be in use with other applications currently running in the background.
Shut down the other applications you are not using. To do this return to the iPad Home screen, then press the Home key twice to view all open applications,
Touch and hold the app icon until the red circle appears, then touch to shut down the app.
Do this for each open app. Powering down the iPad also shuts down open apps.
Q: The meters are not working?
A: Go to the Settings screen iLive MixPad App settings and turn on the Meters option.
Q: The RTA peak band display is not displaying?
A: Go to the Settings screen iLive MixPad App settings and turn on the RTA option.
Q: Custom strip scrolling does not work?
A: Use two fingers to scroll left or right. One finger movement edits the strip positions.
