The cause of this issue is the number of characters in the unit name of the MixRack the iPad is connecting to.
If the name has more than 12 characters, then a MixPad memory buffer can overrun and the application locks up or shuts down.
Until this is resolved in the next release of the MixPad application, please ensure that the MixRack Unit Name has 12 or fewer characters.
Note 1
The default name 'iDR Mix Rack' is fine.
To change the unit name, go to the Surface UTILITY / Network / Network Setup screen.
Note 2
This is not the cause of MixPad crashing with an 'out of memory' message after running for a period of time.
In that case, shut down other applications running in the background as they may be using up the iPad memory.
Note 3
This may not be the cause of MixPad running very slowly, freezing or failing to connect.
In that case check for wireless interference problems and that the router is multicast-capable.
