The MIDI ports on the GS-R24 module cards (FireWire/analogue) can be used to send or receive MIDI signals to and from the GS-R24 and external MIDI devices.

The MIDI ports cannot be used as a midi interface to provide direct connectivity to your DAW for use of external synths, MPC's, V-drums etc.

To route external MIDI into your DAW you will need to integrate a third-party MIDI interface into your setup such as those made by M-Audio or MOTU.
