Yes, a standard 'latching' footswitch capable of shorting tip to sleeve is all that is required.

For customers requiring a footswitch with an LED to indicate the state of the footswitch, custom footswitches such as those offered by Orchid Electronics in the UK might provide a viable solution.

Note: Early ZED-10FX owners whose units do not have the option to mute the FX can be retrospectively modified to convert the FX Out Jack output socket to be used as an FX foot switch socket.
The modification requires replacing a resistor and a capacitor on the effects PCB and is a reasonably straightforward procedure for a competent electronics engineer.
