Q:
Hi, I was wondering if i can use the XONE:2D for timecode in Traktor Pro.
I have 2-Pioneer CDJ 800, XONE:92, Traktor Pro and a Mac Book.
So, I need to know if a can use the XONE:2D instead of an Audio 4DJ (Native Instruments) for timecode.
That's because I don't know if I should purchase only the XONE:2D or XONE:1D + Audio 4DJ.
A:
YES (updated as of 2018/19).
If you're referring to Native Instruments' encoded vinyl or CDs for Traktor Scratch Pro then I'm afraid the answer's no. You must use a 'Traktor Scratch Certified' device to use NI's time-coded media. The XONE:4D is enabled with this level of integration for Traktor Scratch.
For more info see the Native Instruments.
To use a XONE:2D and Traktor Scratch Pro encoded vinyl or CDs, you'll also need NI's Audio4 DJ or Audio8 DJ interface
There are other virtual DJ applications that also use encoded vinyl that you can be used with a XONE:2D, but not from Native.
Please note, however, that the XONE:1D only offers MIDI control,l as the interface does not have a soundcard, and that the XONE:2D also has a 'shifted' layer of MIDI control, so has twice as many assignable MIDI controls as there are on a XONE:1D.
