Q:
We have two Allen & Heath iLive and Nexo Geot installed systems running with NXamp processors over EtherSound, and this whole system is installed over a 1 Gbs fibre.
We need a switch to connect in EtherSound equipment, and for this, we are thinking about buying three administrable switches - Two Cisco Catalyst 2960, and one Cisco Catalyst 3560, to be able to manage the network of 1000Mbs optical fibre and also to send EtherSound to other areas such as TV, radio or recording studio.
Do these switches operates with the EtherSound system?
A:
We have experience of customers who used these switches (+ Fibre) with no problems:
· HP ProCurve 2510-24 24 x RJ-45 10/100 Mbps Ports 2 x Gigabit SFP Sockets
· Allied Telesis GS950/8 8 x Ethernet (RJ-45) ports 2 x Gigabit SFP sockets
· LevelOne GSW-2473 24 x RJ-45 10/100 Mbps Ports 2 x RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps Ports 2 x Gigabit SFP Sockets
We don't have specific information about CISCO switches but I believe most new 1Gb devices should be ok these days
