The midi ports on the ZED-R16 can be used to send or receive midi signals to and from the ZED-R16 and external midi devices.

The midi ports cannot be used as a midi interface to provide direct connectivity to your DAW for use of external synths, MPC's, V-drums etc.

To patch external midi into your DAW you will need to integrate a third-party midi interface into your setup such as those made by M-Audio or MOTU.
